Zune 30GBs Fail as a Family

I received a message from Microsoft today. It told me they were sorry they forgot to send me a Christmas gift, but they'd make it up to me with a new Zune! At least, that's what I think it meant.

To be honest, it wasn't so much a message like a phone call or e-mail, but a bricked Zune 30GB. My faithful friend rebooted itself last night and now it's frozen at the loading screen... like every other Zune 30GB on the planet that was running firmware 3.1. At least as far as anyone can tell right now.

I can't imagine there's a fix since the Zune is 100% unresponsive and seems to have bricked itself. I'm going to guess Microsoft will announce some sort of replacement program soon. My guess? A coupon for discounted Zunes from Zune.net and Zune Originals. Why? Old Zune 30GBs sold for the same price as 80GBs do now, but the masses may wish to switch to a smaller model or pick a color. By offering a coupon code they can sooth the masses with model and color selection and allow them to do a sort of trade-in towards a 120GB if they choose.

Microsoft opened up its doors and support lines 3 minutes ago. May God have mercy on them.
